outlook express trouble

i cant get my outlook express to connect to my pop 3
i spent about 2 hours on the phone with my isp trying to figure it out.. no luck
i am definately using the correct pop 3 .. i can also ping the pop3 in dos mode
also d/l explorer like 5 times ... no fix


but i cant get it to connect when i open outlook express


if any1 can help me PLEASE HELP THIS DUMMY OUT!!!

internet expolrer 6.1(also d/l the new explorer... no help)
 
Is OE able to connect to any other email addresses? Maybe its your ISP's server, try mail2web to see if it can access your box, or if your ISP offers it, their web based email.
 
ya they do offer web based email.. just kinda sux that i cant use outlook = /

and 1 thing im sure of... its not the isp

i just dont get why i cant connect thru outlook.... like i said i can ping the pop 3 addy just fine.. just not thru outlook
 
I've also had this happen, but now remember what I had to do:

Delete the account (save your mail somewhere if necessary), and add it again. Hopefully that will do the trick.
