Outlook express spell check prob

I am running Windows Xp, when I try to run spell check from inside of outlook express I get the following error "An error occurred while the spelling was being checked". Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Difficult to say because Outlook Express has no spell checker. It sponges off of whatever Microsoft program you have installed that has one. Either it can't find the speller or something is wrong with it.

I assume then that it is getting it from Microsoft Word '97. However spell check works fine inside that program. Any other ideas?

If you are running OE6 w/IE6 and XP, then the Word 97 version may not be completely compatible. There are 3rd party spell checkers that work fine in OE6 and XP. QuickSpell is one of the best.

You could always upgrade Word 97. Word 2002 is great.

That is exactly the setup I am using. I will downlaod quickspell and see if that takes care of it. I don't really want to spend the money on the Microsoft office upgrade right now.
