1)Is it worth upgrading from outlook 6 to a higher version for an average home user like me? I have an opportunity to upgrade, but I wonder if I should even bother. Any distinct advantages?
2)Spam is a HUGE problem for me. I'm getting spammed like crazy. I have 2 email accounts @mail.ru domain that I linked to Outlook. I use mail.ru because it's easy and convenient for me. This is a Russian domain, so I'm getting spammed by Russian spammers. It's clearly bots because the names are always random but domains are the same. mail.ru, bk.ru, list.ru, etc.
I know how to block a domain in outlook, but what if someone I know sends me an e-mail from this domain and it gets blocked. That would suck. Any way around this?
3)Are there any good antispam programs that work with Outlook but don't take a lot of memory? Recommendations? Off course I can google this, but I want something that worked well for you guys.
Is it even worth using an antispam program or Outlook has all the antispam features one might need?
4)When I receive mail in language other than English(Russian for example), outlook shows weird characters in "topic". When I open the mail itself, everything displays properly. How can I get Outlook to read topics properly, and display Russian characters?
5)Should an average joe like me use firewalls? I have a basic router, so I probably have some degree of protection. Is there any reason for me to use a software firewall?
I tried using firewalls in the past, but they tend to screw with my P2P software and mess with my online experience in many other ways.
