Outlook express question

I am going to reformat and don't want to lose all my E mail stuff and want to know how to save and restore said info.

the only way i can think of saving your emails in express is by selecting one email, going to FILE> Save as > whatever file name you want, then make sure you have the right file type. (file type: mail.eml). Im not sure if you can load those back into the email program itself (having the emails listed in a folder such as inbox or whatever), but I know you can open that email up like its an actual email.

Here is a MUCH better and easier way to do it :

In Win98SE

Goto C:\windows\application data\identities\{many numbers and letters}\microsoft\outlook express

Backup all the files there.

When you have a fresh windows, just copy those files back to the same directory and you get all your email.

BTW, Autoexec dont take it bad I said that its a much better and easier way because I first did as you suggest and it took so much time :(

yea i took me forever when i used outlook express..... i tried something like you said, but it didnt work and i was really mad. but I dont think the person told me the right way to do it.
but i use outlook 2000 now, which is much easier to back everything up!
