I need to format my computer but need to save all of the folders in my Outlook express such as inbox, sent and even deleted files. How can i back up these files, and how can i recover them after i have formated my computer. Thank you for all your help.

here you go

by the way, this will probably be locked since it is not general hardware-related, so from now on, put your operating system questions in the operating system forum.

in tools>options maintenace tab, click on the store folder button, copy that location, and paste it into my computer. then copy all those files, and burn them onto cd, or whatever. When you format/reinstall OS, it will put Outlook Express on for you, so them you can do the same thing, copy teh address of the store folder, and then paste the files from the backup into that folder when OE is closed. It will overwrite the newly created inbox with nothing in it, and it will create the folder automatically. Unfortuinately, you can't save things like blocked senders, rules for emails to go into specific folders, or the email accounts information. If it IS possible to do this, please let me know :)

just fyi, I think this should have been posted in Software, though.

edit: doh..too late, for typing it all. But, in one of the above posted links, was the answer to what I thoyught couldn't be done :D thanks!
