Outlook - Does anyone use it for anything other than e-mail?

I was just curious as to whether or not anyone uses Outlook (97, 2k, XP) for anything other than e-mail. I just started using XP today and went back to using Outlook. It's progressed since the last time I used it (97), but so far, I'm not sure how much I'll really use it.

well dude I personally use it to wruite down something like a sticky notes or when I have smth to do I write it down so that I can not forget to do it during the day. For example I have set it up to tell me when some friend has a birthday ;-]

Outlook 97 was a cruel joke. Outlook 98 or higher are much improved.

I use Outlook for e-mail, keeping track of my schedule, organizing my phone numbers and addresses, storing brief notes, tracking critical tasks, etc.

One very nice thing is that synchronizing Outlook with just about any PDA is a breeze. It works great in conjunction with my Palm Pilot.

The only thing that sucks about Outlook is that you can't share data among multiple users without using MS Exchange Server.

all palm pilot features are on outlook, and they sync each other. outlook is a good organizer.. can remind you of friend/family birthdays etc.

I use outlook98 for contacts, phone numbers, etc. and I use the calender extensively. Having holidays and everyone's birthday come up automatically is a definite plus. I also use some custom folders for notes, etc. As was mentioned, outlook syncs beautifully with my palmpilot so I carry everything with me when I'm on the go. I hate to say it, but I really love outlook, it's a great program.

I use the tasks feature, which definately helps an unorganized person like myself, and the contacts feature.

If you mean syncing 2 copies of Outlook, maybe your laptop and desktop machines, it's not as easy as you'd think. Unless you are also running Exchange Server.

If you are using W2K then each identity must use their own setup. I don't know about other OS w/Outlook. What is exchange server?

I'd say 25% of my day is spent in Outlook. I use almost every feature it has

Contacts, Calendar, Notes, Tasks, Email but never Journal. What the hell is Journal?

I do the same, don't know about 25% though, It isn't exactly productivity software if you spend a quarter of your day on it!
