I work in a small office (11 employees) and we recently switched over to an off site IMAP email system (previously we hosted an exchange server). My boss is addicted to outlook, basically because he uses win mobile 5 on his handheld and he like the calendar function. I personally like thunderbird. I know the outlook has classically sucked when working with IMAP servers, which IMHO is outrageous, but why is this? IMAP has been around forever and just about everything supports it. Is the next version of outlook anybetter, we are currently using 2k3.

MS has no motivation to fix their IMAP support since most of their users either use POP3 or MAPI.

Have you ever used another client? If you have then you have different tastes than me.

I've never had any issue with it.

Try another IMAP client. It could be the server. It could be the internet connection.
