Outlook Address Book Help

I just rebuilt my system, backed up my Outlook .pst file, and got everything setup again.
The problem is that when I send emails, and I click "To:" I get the following error:

"The address list could not be displayed. The Contacts folder associated with this address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or deleted, or you do not have permissions. For information on how to remove this folder from the Outlook Address Book, see Microsoft Outlook Help."

All of my contacts are intact ... it just seems like the address book isn't associated with my contact list.
Any ideas?

Thanks,

I hate Outlook... it is the biggest POS to setup.. such a confusing program.. it's not even worth the hassle for email... lol
I've had that problem before, don't remember the resolution though, try a Google search, or an MS knowledge base search.

Make sure you have the "show folders" selected under the "view" menu. If/when you can see the folders, right click on the "contacts" folder and choose properties. Click on the "outlook address book" tab, make sure the "show this folder...." box is checked.

Did you use the backup/restore utility?

If so, the restore creates a new "personal folders" folder and restores to that location rather than the main folder labelled "outlook today - personal folders". You need to export (not backup) just the contacts folder then import them into the main contacts folder. Then go into start>programs>accessories>address book>tools>options and check share address book and it should work properly.

Yes, Outlook is really a POS to setup. They tried to address this with the backup utility but they screwed that up too. In fact, you need to restore using the utility, then export/import all your folders back into the main folder for them to work together properly.
