1. Still Won't preview Excel Files
The product has been out since September 2015, and this still hasn't been fixed. As of my last search (a couple days ago), a registry hack is still the only way to fix it.

Come on Microsoft. I can't believe they aren't prioritizing fixing something that previous versions never had a problem with.

2. The search function (says it's) not working correctly.

I say "says" because every time I run a search, I get results with a header saying "We're having trouble fetching results from the server. Some results may not be included in your search results."

I often find what I am looking for, and I can't say with 100% certainty that, when I don't, it's Outlook's fault (I could be using the wrong search terms).

Just sent myself an excel file to test it and it works for me.
Did you try this on another computer to see if it's something with your profile?

Two different computers but same profile, issue on both (one it on a domain, the other is not). Thanks for testing. I'll add one of my personal accounts to test with and see what that one does. Question for you Chiefcrowe: is your installation through Office 365 or from elsewhere? Wondering if this could be (part of) the culprit.

It's odd though, because then are LOTS of hits on my googles for this issue (and they are on the MS forums), so there is something going on here, whether it is Outlook itself or some combination of apps/accounts. It's not that they are hard to open in any way, but seeing "This file cannot be previewed because there is no previewer installed for it" when referring to a file that cane be opened by a program from the same installation package is just stupid.

My install is local, not O365.

Just tested a word file and it works too but for PDF I have to click on it twice to preview for some reason!

With all of the innovations that MS is attempting to include with office you'd think that a unified inbox for Outlook would've happened years ago. Each time I have to scroll about to each account's inbox I always wonder why they can't unify them all into a single location. It would make things so much easier and then we can move the mail around to wherever we want for it to go.

We can shift this a little if you like, because I would be interested to know who all DOES unify inboxes. Thunderbird doesn't (at least, not that I have seen). Phone apps are the only place I can find it.

Ironically, last time I checked, Office 2011 (and probably 2016) for MAC does this!!

I edited the title, and will add more as they present themselves, as I am not wasting your time with more threads. But if you have tips (or more bugs to report), feel free to share.

Not only that, they include it in Outlook 2016 for the Mac!

With the latest round of updates, I can now preview Excel files in the application. Of course, I am now in the habit of just hitting open on the file, but at least they finally fixed it.
