Outlook 2003 problems

I've recently decided to combine my gmail and schoo email accounts and set both up to download to my outlook to save me time in checking my email. I followed all the directions of both my school's tech site and gmail on the configuration of email on outlook and i can now receive email fine but i won't send any email. I have to go back to the web interface in order to send any email. I don't hink its a problem with my email services because the same thing happened wiht both the gmail and skool email account. I enabled the security authentication and all but still can't get outlook to send out my emails. The test account settings screen says the specified serer was found but there was no response from the server. Try checking my systems SSL and port configuration. It's been like this for a couple of months now so its not like this is just a temporary down server. Any ideas on what settings i need to make in order to send email from outlook? I tried everything relevant i can find on microsoft's website to no avail.

i was using the school's, then realized i had to use my isp's smtp in order to send outgoing email. This is my first time with outlook so didn't know the difference. It's working now. Thanks!
