Does anyone know how I can get rid of the annoying virus protection in Outlook XP? Outlook blocks access to certain file types to prevent virus outbreaks. I know *.exe and *.url are on the list. Can I disable this?

The only piece of info I've found on this is you can only disable it if you're connected to an Exchange server. So how do I do it at home!

Thanks

Ryan

If you are not in an Exchange environment, you can fix this with a registry change. Go here.

There's a book out called "Outlook 2002." It is one thick sucker. I didn't know it was possible to write that much about Outlook. Stroll to your local book store and check it out.

Theres a simple Com plugin on the net that will allow you to add and remove which file type to be protected from.
I dont have the Link on this box, but do a search on Google and it should come up.
