Maine's outgoing Republican Party chairman plans to investigate claims that "dozens of black people" unfamiliar to local officials voted in rural Maine towns, the Bangor Daily News reports.

“In some parts of the state, there were dozens of black people who came in to vote,” Charlie Webster said in an interview. “Nobody in town knew them.”

Webster plans to send thousands of postcards with a picture of the state capitol to registered voters. He is interested in the postcards that are returned as undeliverable in his investigation of voter fraud.

Woah, DOZENS of black people came into vote in your district? FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD!

"Guys, i don't get why minorities won't vote for us!" - Tone deaf rebublicans

Also, Maine has the largest population of Somali refugees in the US:

I'm sure conservatives avoid these people as much as they can.

What does the Somali refugees have to do with eligible voters.

They are not US citizens.

===============================================================

Maine law seems to allow voting with same day registration.

“They’ll go out in first-class mail,” he said. “I don’t expect people to respond to the question. The concept behind this is to see if they are returned. This is a reasonably inexpensive effort by me to settle the question” of whether people travel to Maine communities to vote fraudulently.

If cards come back as undeliverable, Webster believes it will prove his theory that people travel to Maine to vote fraudulently.

The Tea Party took over Maine and got in a Governor with 38 percent of the vote. And the typical Tea Party bullshit ensued. Maine is turning blue faster because of this. The Tea Party is just having a last gasp while they take the Republican party in Maine down with them.

Unless Maine has some law that allows voting with registration; those unknowns should have been registered and allowed to vote.

You know refugees can be naturalized (after only 5 years of living here) and also have children born in the US.

What rights do refugees have?
Refugees have the same rights and responsibilities as U.S. citizens. However, a refugee
cannot vote or get a U.S. passport until he or she becomes a citizen.

When can refugees become citizens?
Refugees may become U.S. citizens after they have been in the country for five years.
They must first apply for permanent residency and take a citizenship test.
(A sample U.S. citizenship test is posted on the Center for the Humanities website at
www.unh.edu/uprooted .)

So, he and some of his friends, who never socialize with any "black people", see some "black people" they don't recognize at the polls.

Conclusion: These "black people" must be up to no good.

And obviously, they recognized all of the good white people that showed up, right?

In rural towns; most everyone knows everybody.

These are not places of thousands; they are places of hundreds.

The locals know who lives in the community. They are the ones that "reported" the issue.
People shop at the same stores - next store down the road is an hour drive.

And that is usually where the white people hate black people and do not choose to associate with them the most. So why the fuck would they know them?

Meh, the way I figure it, the fella was in the firm grip of loss and perturbed over the spanking the Repubs got in the elections and was searching his soul for the real reasons why his party lost so badly. Then, as he lay in bed coming to grips with the horror of how the nation will decend into the pits of depravity and communism now that all is lost, his anguished conciousness had an epiphane and voila! He knew, he just KNEW it was those black folks, errr yellow, or brown? Well that's besides the point...he KNEW that those DOZENS if not millions of them stole the election right then and there at the polling station he voted at.

"Hey boy you don't look like you're from round these parts." I'm gonna have to arrest yo black ass.

Seems that attitude hasen't changed much. Ok GOP leadership time to step up.

I remember a story out of Pittsburgh aroung 5-7 years ago. Young black man driving his uncle's Benz who happened to play for the Steelers. Pulled over because the cops didn't think a young black man would be driving that kind of car. Argument ensued and the man would up dead because cops crushed his chest detaining him.

Middle size towns maybe; not the small ones (unless things have changed in the past 50 years)

Even if you do not associate with them; you still recognize them.
Your kids go to school with them; they are at some social functions, etc.
they still come for supplies and mail, etc.

Your thinking of the Southern US. The rural north is as white as a snow field in many many places. But that doesn't mean the people are racist, Maine last time I checked was 90%+ white and voted for Obama overwhelmingly.

Arguing over whether they recognize people who live in their town is a moot point guys. He's making this shit up. Like if I said I didn't recognize the 52 maritan invaders that came down and voted at my polling place. He can't substantiate his claims. He's a moonbat.

Vermont is the "whitest" state in the union percentage wise. Guess how big Obama's victory was?

And so...?

Doesn't actually change that they can be citizens.

No problem with them becoming citizens and in the proper time frame.
I do not see people from somalia moving into the back woods rural towns.

Employment is usually tourism and logging with some field work for agriculture.
not a great demand to pull people 100s of miles from a community.

The overall story stinks - but I can't see where there is a way for it to happen if it is legit.

So where did these mysterious "black people" come from? Were they smuggled into the state the night before the election? How did they all manage to successfully register to vote without being found out? They either had to register by mail with the state and provide significant documentation or register in person at the town halls of these small communities and be scrutinized by people that don't know them.

The conspiracy does not seem plausible, even in small towns.
