outdoor network cable

I am running conduit from my house to my garage and want to put in a network cable through it. I will be going about 150 ft and it will be about a foot under ground with no outdoor connections. The conduit will not necessarily be water tight just a shield against rocks and give something to push the cable through.
 
there are many types of buryable Cat5e and 6 cables available, as well as outside bury rated cables. youll pay premium for it tho. call or go to any company that sells cat cable and youll get a good earful about what you need. 150ft is an easy run, no real need for fiber.i would suggest a pull box about halfway tho, no need to stress the cable (or fiber) from a long pull.
 
As long as you have arrestors and grounding that is installed and up to code then you can bury it.

Most home users don't do this and wind up with a fire or worse. With fiber there is no need to worry about the potential loss of life or property.
