When ever the wait staff stiffs me like that... I just reduce it off the tip.

she was charged for the dressing? around here it comes free. if you want extra then it is $.50

The only time I have hesard of charging for dressing is if you go to a restaurant and buy buffalo wings. Some places include celery/dressing with the wings automatically and others charge extra, but even then the waitress may or may not actually charge it on the bill.

Why would blue cheese cost extra?

Everywhere I've gone in southern ontario has charged extra for blue cheese with wings. Never had it on a salad though.... I think I'll have to try it!

The woman in your party is TECHNICALLY in the right, but I'd be REALLY embarassed if someone made a big stink about fitty cents.

If it was extra blue cheese that she wanted for some buffalo wings, then yah, a charge is fair.

if it's fvcking salad dressing for a salad, then hell no she should not have been charged.

I was going to post how I thought it was a bit funny that you consider a place where you can throw shells on the floor a "very nice steakhouse" but I see a few people already pretty much got me covered.

That said, the 50 cent charge for dressing is stupid. It's a salad, it comes with dressing.

Cheap woman should have had the waitress call over the manager. Then she likely would have been comped for her dinner! ;)

To put it in perspective, for side dishes of pasta, only certain sauces are free. While regular tomato sauce or marinara may be free, alfredo or meat sauce certainly would not be.

Same concept.

If the extra charge isn't on the menu and if the waitress didn't mention it, then the Best Woman was within her legal rights to refuse to pay it.

If the extra charge was on the menu and/or if the waitress mentioned it, then the Waitress was correct.

Either way, the waitress should have mentioned it, and thus ultimately the whole mess was the waitress'es fault. Thus, the proper solution is to avoid the argument and simply tip her 50 cents less. The best woman ends up paying the exact same amount as she wants and/or should. The waitress takes the hit for failing to do her job. The world is good again.

I was actually thinking... when you order French Fries... Ketchup is free...
ask for Cheese or Gravy, and they charge you.

I've only ever waited at Italian places, so I guess I have sauce on the brain when it comes to these things.

LOL @ Maid of Man.

Oh, and while the waitress should have said it was extra, its only 50 cents. Shut up and pay it.

Additionally there was the Best Man who was actually a woman. (which was ok, because the maid of honor was actually a man.) So we actually have, the best woman, and the maid of man. (off topic, sorry back to the story)

Thats where I stopped reading....

"A very nice steakhouse"

"...just thrilled at being able to drop peanut shells on the floor."

Those two things don't work in the same description of any restaurant I have ever been to that was considered "very nice". And arguing over fifty cents at an after reception dinner, totally out of line. Now that's all anybody is going to remember about that dinner, tell her "nice going" for me.

These are not cross-dressers, transvestites, or anything out of the ordinary...

Face it this happens sometimes... and its not a big deal.

Bride is best friends with a male, he is the position of maid of honor, wearing full suit and tie... just standing on the brides side instead of the grooms.

Groom was best briends with a femail, she is the best man. She was wearing a dress, with flowers, again merely standing on the grooms side instead of the brides.

Because the phrases are not gender neutral, they were interchanged.

thats a common practice around here....about half the places do it. If the waitress didn't say anything and it wasn't on the menu obviously she can refuse to pay it, but it's not worth it IMO.

Nearest Walmart
Kentucky Fried Chicken
Nearest McDonalds
Used Car Sales
Typical Wedding Attendant
A very nice steakhouse (RRR Roadhouse), considering the surrounding area.

None of these photos, except the RRR Roadhouse, the Frogtown Post Office, and the bride playing football are actual depictings of Clarion County PA, Frogtown PA, or the Wedding Attendants, all are exadurated to prove a point.

But, I'd really love to see how most of ATOT would fail at life in the 1800's without malls and internet.
