As a general note it is best to name a dog a two-syllable word that has audible contrast between the two syllables. It's easiest for a dog to recognize it's own name that way and it won't confuse it with other parts of your ordinary speech.

I thought the "Shelby" nomination was good, or even just "Shelly."

This is my name for CS, and I was going to name my dog this, but ill let you use it.

We had a dog and decided to call him Max. This lasted three days and my wife heard me call him MaxiPad. He now goes by Spot...
