Our President Is a Secret C Programmer

During his speech to demand no tax on broadband services, Bush said:

"And so - by the way, we rank 10th amongst the industrialized world in broadband technology and its availability. That's not good enough for America. Tenth is 10 spots too low as far as I'm concerned."

Apparently not only the C/IDL/etc programmers count from zero!

Arrays in Pascal and FORTRAN, to name two, start at 1 (by default, you can declare them more or less as you please). In all seriousness, many people find counting from zero counter-intuitive and require some getting-used-to. I thought this quote to be curious, rather than funny.

I actually find it easier, but different strokes, I guess.

The president of the U-nited States of America would probably not be able to write freshman level pseudocode let alone C.
