Finally, winter is hitting us pretty hard. I hope the snow lasts till Christmas. :)

The snow-squalls have locked on to my city and it looks like a blizzard out there. It's -10C and with the windchill it feels like -25C. They say we should get around 20cm of snow.

Now I look forward to some comfort food during this winter season.

Friday we were forecast to get up to an inch, accumulating on grassy areas only. Ended up with 12 inches of heavy wet snow.

Yep - that is supposed to arrive in my part of MI around noon here so I'm looking forward to an awesome commute home

It's possible I might not be feeling good and I might have to go home sick. I think right around lunch time is when I'll be feeling much worse.

We got nothin and like it.
They don't have plows down by you, and people down there use summer tires year round!
I've seen when you guys get like 1/4 inch of snow and all the schools close and highways are empty.

We only got like an inch or so NW of Chicago near the Wi border. Hope we get more since a buddy of mine took a job driving a plow.

Hey, we have a plow that they can put on the front of a truck.

You bet we close down. That southern black ice is a bitch.

We got our first ~5 inches in Boston last weekend. I don't understand the people who complain about it and yet still live here ... move south if you don't like it! As for me, I want to move further north and higher in elevation so the snow season is extended even longer.

Snow sucks if it sticks to the roads. Otherwise it's not too bad. Although the cold sucks too.

North GA here - we got about 5 inches last Friday. The temp fluctuated just below/above freezing most of the time so it started raining at some point and melted most of the road snow. My sister lives just west of Atlanta and they got 9-10". I can't remember any time getting a snowfall this heavy in early December (lived in the SE all my life).

We'll probably end up getting nothing the rest of this winter.

It's fun if you have snow tires. And the cold is refreshing :)
Yeah it's so fun and refreshing to wake up when it's dark outside then layering up to go outside and it's 20 degrees and freeze your ass off as you walk to the car in the wind, then sit there for 5 minutes in the freezing cold while it warms up. So much fun! And so refreshing!

Depends on your tolerance for cold I guess. It doesn't bother me. Some people belong in the south, some in the north. I'm a lot more uncomfortable at 80+ degrees than I am at 20, and I'm not a big fat guy or anything lol.

My girlfriend and I briefly considered a future move to California / Bay Area but decided the lack of winter would be depressing. I'm glad she's the same way.
