Please do not flaunt the cost of your schooling as some sort of barometer for your value to society or your level of class, as it is a very poor indicator of both.
I get paid well doing something that I love, and something I can look back on with pride at having created something of value. I doubt I would get any of those from a career in corporate/civil law. Maybe criminal law.

As for the taxpayers money goes, don't be coy. You know as well as I do that if you make a" qualifying"(for the anal retentive in the crowd) donation to charity, you write it off so you don't pay taxes on it. Less income less tax. Of course you have to attain a certain level in the tax bracket before that becomes viable, but you've certainly made it clear you're in that situation.
and what is wrong with this? how is this spending the taxpayer's money? you are simply spending less of your own money on taxes. which is reasonable, given that taxes are supposed to be an individual's contribution to society in return for what he gets. if he chooses to give away some of what he gets, why should he still have to pay for it?

I guess the entire speech you should have received from your parents about " It is very rude to discuss your finances with others " missed this guy...
