no pictures yet, so don't ask.

about 10 minutes ago, we got a call from the doorman of our building telling us that we have to come down, "something happened to your car." so we came down and some security guard was there telling us that the door was rammed in and there's glass everywhere. we went down there and indeed, there was. the stupid idiot didn't own up to the crime and fled the scene -- other tenants brought it to the security guy's attention.

our new mazda3 is now sitting there with a broken window on the street while the husband calls insurance and figures out what to do next :(

again, no pics yet. the only one you'll see right now is this one --> :|

yes, because sports car drivers never drive into light poles by themselves. ;)

I feel your pain. That REALLY sucks...

We bought a brand-new Impala a few years ago (it was our first NEW (unused) car) and someone nailed the left tail light/ bumper/ left side and just took off. We'd had it for all of a week. We were so pissed....there was absolutely nothing we could do about it. I even went around to all the tenants who lived around that park of the parking lot (we lived in an apt complex) to see if there were any witnesses. No joy.

Frickin' SOBs!

At least no one was inside. Glad no one got hurt!

I hope your insurance company settles everything for you. Goodluck.

Do they have video cameras there?

no, it was parked on the street.

Doorman ... Security Guard ... but no surveillance cameras in the lot?

the security guard does rounds around the area, it seems. there's a huge driveway lined with trees that blocks any views from the street, so the doorman couldn't see it, and someone apparently told the security guard while he was checking out the area.

I'll bet a hundred bucks it was a woman (no offense to the OP).

the OP is a woman :p

there are a lot of old folks that live here. i bet it was an old guy.

we're still working with insurance. the car looks like it's going to be towed since it can easily get stolen in its current condition.

i saw screwed in a hit and run in a parking lot... a witness left he plate # that hit me, but without his name (which he didn't leave) the cops or insurance company couldn't go after them. I saw a hit and run in a parking lot last week, wrote down the plates and called the cops, but the hit car never reported it...... oh well, at least i tried

I hate that crap. My car is 12 years old, still runs great, never been anything more than the usual door dings and weather effects. Started college fall '02, by spring '03 I'd been hit and run twice in the dorm parking lot. More damage in half a year than its whole lifetime.

that sucks. my commuter truck at work got hit pretty badly on the side (im talking a mean side-swipe-like job). the ultimate kick in the face though? they left a empty piece of paper in my wipers (faked putting their information in case anyone saw the incident). no cameras in the parking lot, useless security guard, and no witnesses. luckily insurance helped out a bit, but still, what an ass to whoever did that. that incident coupled with a few other recent developments (people's windows getting smashed in, gas being siphoned and peoples tanks even getting sliced open) has made me start taking public transportation to work. my truck only makes the trip when absolutely necessary and my car stays in the garage unless im driving around locally.
