Heh. We also had a bunch of toys arranged in bed, blankets, little handkerchiefs, other crap hanging around, what not. Baby arrived, and all of this went straight into the box until she was 2 months old. Toys are useless, and get in the way when you need to change the baby at 3 am. You don't want her to choke on those extra blankets either.

In the end, the room turned into pure function: a changing dresser _very_ close to the crib, so that you could quickly lift the baby from the bed and onto the changing pad. A diaper geenie at hand. A stockpile of fresh linens and diapers. I don't think we installed a mobile until she was 1 month old and started to focus her eyesight. Until then all you need is talk to her/him and feel you both are there.

Heh, I don't have any kids, but this is sort of how I was thinking, too. I don't think a newborn really has any interest in bears or bears who play sports, decorationg the nursery seems to be more for the parents than the kid.

I guess it's true, but when the baby grows up he'll learn to appreciate bears and sports :) hehe. The theme is a plus, what matters is the functionality of the items in the nursery, like the blankets, diaper bag, lamp, crib bumbers, etc...they all serve a purpose....the bears are just a decoration and just help bring some life and color to the room.

congrats and it looks nice, but im dissapointed you didn't go with the circuit/C theme.... ;-)
wouldn't it be nice if your kids could learn C without having to leave their crib?
