I went to the dentist yesterday to have some cavities filled and man does my mouth hurt now! It took about 7 or 8 shots to finally numb me before he could actually begin to work, 5-6 in the side of my mouth and then 1 syringe full right next to each tooth. I had some filled on my right side already a few weeks back and it took just as many injections but it didnt hurt afterwards. The bottom left sie of my mouth is in immense pain right now though and i still dont feel like i can eat and just rinsing my mouth with water sends a nice cold tingle down my spine.

Anyone have any suggestions as to how i could get through this pain a lil easier? I've already taken 2 Ibuprofen

Call your dentist and see if what you are experiencing is normal. He could prescribe something if necessary.

Yea he does like me he even gave me a discount, he said i have a very weird nerve structure or something cause it takes so much to numb my mouth.

Ouch. I would watch taking too much medicine though on an empty stomach.

My dentist rules. I had to have five cavities filled two weeks ago. Two shots of novacaine did the trick. I didn't even feel the shots.

My only advice for you is that you should give it time. Your teeth need time to adjust and "take" to the new fillings. The teeth will be sensitive for a few weeks (mine still are).

Call your dentist and have them phone in a prescription for you. Or do what I do and take 4 ibuprofins, check with your doctor first though.
