I did that in rugby. Tackling someone much smaller who dipped at the last second. His forehead met my nose and knocked me out cold...

Paterno's comment on Robinson:

Q: There was one play when Robinson took a hit instead of going out of bounds, how do play like that from your leader energize your team?
A: He is a leader. He is a tough kid. He is a football player who happens to be playing quarterback. He would be a heck of a linebacker. He would be a heck of a fullback. You know he can play wideout. He has taken the bull by the horns and, as the season goes on, he will get even better.

Last year Robinson was at about 225 lbs IIRC and played wideout mostly. I think he's a little lighter this year. Two years ago, he played all over, RB, SE, QB. The DB was really not trying to tackle a typical QB.

Could that mess of a ramble be any more obvious and pointless?

"He's a football player who happens to be playing quarterback".

I know what Joe was trying to say, but it looks horrible seeing it in print.

That's the way Paterno is, he rambles on in press conferences. Everybody's a linebacker to him. Remember Jim Kelly? He went to Miami since Paterno was recruiting him as a linebacker.
