Hey all,

I'd like your opinion on the following:

On 12/11/00 I bought a 3dfx VoodooTV 200 and now that 3dfx is in its current position and that I have heard there will be no support from 2/00 on. I am || that close to taking advantage of best buys 30 day return policy. Okay make that I'm very likely to return in in the next couple of days. Since it is unlikely any further driver development will take place I think my best bet is to return the card for the equivelant Hauppage card. The card hasn't worked fully since day one, to best explain it DRIVER HELL! I've never had driver's for any computer component behave this badly. I've finally gotten it stable with just the vfw capture drivers but this is without their visual reality software installed how sad is that. I should mention I only installed it a couple of days ago haven't had much time.

So given my experience so far, and the fact that 3dfx is in its current condition I'm curious to hear someone else's opinion.

P.S. Would list PC specs but short on time right now.

I'd say ditch the card, I have used many 3dfx products and they were very stable, but then again new drivers always came out to fix problems. Since no new drivers will probably come out; you'd be better off to get a new card.. That will also cause problems if you plan on using new oses like whistler.
Thats what i'm worried about, sure the V5 i have now works well, but I'd like to screw around with linux and try whistler when it comes out, unfortunetly there probably won't be any new drivers.

Return it, my experience with the voodoo 1 and the voodoo 5 has been excellence, but most of the voodoo troubles are the ones with the TV addon such as the voodoo 3 3500.
