Not to sound callous but why the hell do people sit on barriers that were designed to keep the cars from leaving the track area? They place those barriers in areas that have a high incidence of accidents. Common sense should tell you to either sit far behind one of those or find a spot on a straightaway or on the inside of a turn. I know the pictures may be better when you are staring danger in the face, but in the end, it just isn't worth your life.

Notice in the pic he got knocked right out of his shoes?

His brown cap and digital camera were also in the air above two watchers on the left.

RIP. 🙁

I'm not sure WHY the photographer was out there, but the other two guys are corner workers.

I'm not 100% sure about this brazilian racing series, but...

In SCCA the yellow flag man faces away from traffic and watches for incidents that might impede traffic, and he is always ready to turn around towards traffic and wave the yellow flag to warn them.
The other man should be responsible for all the other flags, and should actually stand in front/next to the yellow flag man, facing into traffic. That way, if he sees something coming towards he and his partner, he can quickly notify his buddy and they can move.

Quoted that from "PaulL" from another forum that can explain corner workers 10x better than I ever could 😉.
