I am always amazed at how people are willing to host these parties. My buddy had one about a month ago. It was a great time but there was a ton of damage and he got a nice fine. Hell, I think it'd be impossible to control after it passes 15 people.

You could fight the charge saying you were not drinking the alcohol. The cops have the burden of prooving that you consumed alcohol. You can state that the current bottle in your hand was being given to a friend over the age of 21 and you were merely serving him. No matter how unlikely it is, they must proove beyond a reasonable doubt.

Actually, he's a dumbass for 1) being caught and then 2) comes here and whines about it.

Agreed. I'm under 21, I drink every couple months and I speed if I'm with the flow of traffic. Hopefully the OP gets over himself for being a dumbass and learns how to not get the cops called next time.

He needs to just pay the ticket. Yes, I have broken rules before, and when I get caught, I face the consequences of my actions. On a subject like alcohol, a judge probably isn't very likely to just "let it slide" over some small technicality. I mean, think about it for a second.. "Yea, you're right, this isn't the right address. They must have broken up the wrong party or a party at another house and someone must have forged your signature, huh?"

Stop whining. You did it, you didn't get away with it, and now you pay for it.

Read the ticket. As far as I know, signing the ticket is not an admission of guilt. You HAVE to sign the ticket, if you don't, they'll give you a ride to the local police station and deal with you there...

After people you don't know start showing up in groups, it's pretty much impossible to control. Hard enough when there're twenty friends of yours.

Heh. It depends on where you get your booze from. My friends had this huge 300+ party, and they had over $1500 in profits (each). I think they paid a $300 fine, but still... $300/2 = $150. ===> $1500 - $150 = $1,350.

I'm not saying signing the ticket is an admission of guilt, rather that the info provided is accurate. Something tells me he didn't drive home the fact that this wasn't his actual address. I can't see how an officer would make you sign something innacurate when it's very easy to prove incorrect. Couldn't you just say "Sir, this address isn't my address, it's really xxxx, if you want you can confirm it by looking out front" or whatever.

I got my own house my senior year of high school and I had a party just about every night. I never had a problem. Never had an MIP in my life. He needs to just suck it up and pay the fine.

Hate hosting them but like going to them, convinient don't you think?

Controlling a party is just a matter of having the right person running door and security, someone who can make people to go home or stop drinking without causing hurt feelings. Plus having enough friends willing to back you up when things go bad (had a bunch of drunk townies try to take over a party one time, that was an interesting few minutes). But anyways I don't particularly like hosting them but I will have once a semester or so to return the favor to all the parties I go to.

Wait..you are calling him a dumbass for not being able to keep the cops from getting called yet you said yourself:

Hmm..shut the fvck up.

How did they enter the house? The police cannot just walk in unless they received complaints regarding noise, etc from a neighbor. Please give us details as to how this went down.

So... people were paying over $10 to get in?

brxndxn, I can't say I never drank until I was 21, but I wasn't stupid enough to get caught.

I've thrown some parties and the only thing i've gotten was a noise violation and the cops told everyone to leave. I have a few friends that live a few meters away that got charged with alot more. I guess I'm just lucky.

You shut the fvck up, troll. He's a dumbass for having a party so large he doesn't know people; control the door and you're set. If there's no one manning the door and people start getting in, you're screwed, but you're still responsible for letting people in.

my signature was to confirm that the information I provided was true. Everything I gave to him was, which is why I signed it. He put the wrong address for the charge down.

You should be really f'n happy that all you got was an MIP. Accept some responsibility and pay the fine.

say you were drunk and that the cop took advantage of your current state and inappropriately touched you. You resisted and so the cop then wrote up this citation with the fake, imaginary address as retribution. I think this is the best defense for you!
