Ottawa Barbecue ribfest!

Had to walk past several large cooking vans today on my way to the ophthalmologist. It was 30 celsius and the people were still lined up to eat ribs Texas-style, Oklahoma-style, Cajun-style... The whole street smelled of BBQ sauce for 4 blocks.

Some ot the rib dishes were $20!:shocked:

Those vans were displaying all the awards they've won so far. They take rib competition seriously.

$20 isn't unusual for a full rack of ribs.

Well, that team was from Oklahoma so I say Oklahoma style. :laugh:

Maybe I should go take some pics tomorrow if it's not raining. One team banner said RANGERS so that probably was one of the Texas ones.

Rib Cook-off's are amazing.

I've been to Best of the West twice now which is held in Reno over Labor Day. Go for the sampler and each stand so that you can try multiple kinds.

If Rasta Joe's BBQ is there, give em a try. Awesome ribs, rub & sauce!
