I've seen a year where winter hit so fast the leaves did not even fall off the trees. It's weird to see leaves on trees with 6 feet of snow on the ground. :biggrin:

Only happened once that I remember though. As for the work involved of raking, I found a trick, in spring you usually have to rake because the lawn will be completely flattened out from the weight of the snow, so why bother raking before the snow comes, I just wait till spring. :awe:

It might be for me. Think this year I'm going to buy one. By April I'm so fed up of shoveling. We seem to get lot more snow dumps too, so instead of a few cm here and there over the entire winter it's long dry spells of no snow then a couple feet suddenly.

When I first moved down here I wanted a Magnolia tree.

THen one time over at my grandmothers she pointed to the neighbors over hanging the yard and the stuff on the ground and I changed my mind.

You can grow trees with pine cones if you take the seeds out. Free Magnolia trees! :biggrin:
 
They don't do that here, they stay here all fuggin long and sh!t all over our parks.

Hate those rag birds, pidgins are more useful

There are plenty of pines you can grow here all ready too, but Magnolia leaves on top of the other are HUGE and its a messy tree just to have it look good for a short time when it grows up 🙂

I like the messy, tropical warm in the winter backyard 🙂

That looks nice for down there. The screen roof would be destroyed pretty quick by the snow here.

Hahaha it's funny because we never see any poop here. Though come to think of it I never see the geese here either except for when they're flying in or out. I think they go even more north than we are and just do a pit stop here.

But yeah, I think they save their #2 for you guys. :biggrin:
 
Just a difference of preference. I've lived in Texas, and I can assure you the grass was not greener before, during, or after. I went there in spite of the climate, looking for work.
