Other programs to record/edit with Asus TV Tuner

Are there any other programs to record/edit video with the Asus TV Tuner? PowerVCR is rather poor, and PowerDirector makes editing a chore, no matter how fast your computer and harddrive is. The quality is excellent, but I'm not able to capture @ 44KHz and editing is extremely clunky, especially when dealing with more than 30 minutes of footage.

Also, does anyone know of a way to get DScaler working with this card?

I'm pretty picky about quality and the Asus doesn't disappoint. It's really lacking in the software department though. If you're planning to capture, make sure you do a search in the registry for "MaxRecSizeMB" and change the value to something higher than 600. Otherwise it'll chop up your video into 600 meg segments...

Bump, any other suggestions? I tried WinDVR, which doesn't seem to do a very good job of anything. I have a bad feeling that in order to take advantage of the mpeg2 capture assist of the card, I'm going to need software that supports it... unfortunately I don't know of any others.

I gave up trying to get Dscaler to work with my Leadtek tuner. 🙁

If you have plenty of HD space, you could try capturing uncompressed AVI and use TMPGenc to edit/convert the AVI into a MPG video file. That's what I do when I capture Futurama on Cartoon Network. Unfortunately, uncompressed AVI is roughly 8gb for a 30 minute show....
