Other Processor Brands

I was just curious to see if anybody knew of other companies besides Intel and AMD that make PC Processors. Obviously, AMD and Intel dominate the market...

there are a few other companies, but for mainstream CPUs, you will only ever find AMD/Intel thesedays.

IBM is large, because they make the G5 processor from what I remember... I am not 100% sure on that, but I think I remember reading that.

Actually only AMD, Intel and VIA make PC processors.
Other companies like IBM, Motorola, SUN, make processors but not for PC.

In the past IBM and Cyrix used to make PC processors, but not anymore.

Only AMD survived to Intel monopolist policy.

Heh... you're implying that PC's by definition can only use x86 processors.

In the x86 camp, you forgot Transmeta.
