Yea saw em on /. the other day. I dont think they are readily available but look like an awsome advance in fan technology
 
Quiet and good cooling is what I need for my DVEditing box since it's going to be sitting in the living room near the TV.

In my opinion, I really don't think it loses all that much. If you look at a normal case fan it's got that void there anyways. So I really don't think you would lose that much. Plus more air is direceted over the hotest part of the chip. The center.
