Hi all!

I need some good OCing ram for a new rig. So I thought I would get the best that our AnandTech reviewers recommended - OCZ EL Platinum Revision 2 1GB(512MBx2) DDR PC-3200 from newegg here.

Earlier today the price was $333. An hour ago it was $324. Now it is $287.

That is a BIG drop! Fast!

Is this type of thing normal?

Do I wait for a day to buy?

Or do I buy it now?

Thanks

Edit: I bought it. I had ordered most everything else already. Need that rig!

That is a bit crazy. But then again I was watching the price of a USB keychain and it went from 19-17-15-14-13. :S

memory usually drops a good bit this time of year when school starts, I usually try to wait for the prices to stabilize for a week before I purchase memory, unless I'm in a hurry. prices tend to go back up after about halloween and continue to climb as demand rises for christmas.

Newegg is theorized to use a dynamic price system that likes to jack up prices on high-end, non-sale items when supply is low. It's likely the drop is due to them getting more stock in.

ram is all about supply and demand. i liken ram prices to gas prices here where i live. they fluctuate from time to time but they are generally in a certain range. if you have a fry's near you you might wanna check there for ram. they have good deals on dual channel ram from time to time...
