OT - Web Server Logs

So I was just checking out the logs of my webserver and saw all this Link
Can someone explain to me what this means????

A machine that has a virus or worm is trying to infect your clean-up-to-date-with the latest-patches-machine.

I have no idea of what the virus or worm may be. (blaster variant?)

There are a lot of people that run infected machines out there.

If everyone would update and patch their OS, the internet would run a lot faster.

I have tons of the same kind of crap from the same IP addresses each day, you can see when the machine was turned on and when the machine was turned off.

This is interesting. I have noticed a lot more hits the last few days tring to get into my machine. I don't know how anyone could run cable or DSL without a firewall of somekind. I guess we can learn from this. Update Update Update! 😀

Well I patch as often as they come out. I have vscan set to update multiple times daily and this server sits behind a very good firewall. I will learn how to read these logs and better identify the real threats in time. Still new to the game. 🙂
