OT: Virus

Microsoft does not send attachments with their updates . The one you got has been going around lately, there was a thread here about it last week

OMG. I hope you didn't fall for it. If you did then I'll have to agree with you. 😀

No. I never open attachments unless i'm expecting someone to email me something. Norton caught it before I had the chance anyways 🙂

LOL I had 3 people at work ask me if they should install that patch. I asked them why they thought MS would single them out to send the patch too. They said Oh I guess you are right.

Then I had a lady get one of those ebay scam e-mails!!! Very funny stuff. Was asking for her credit card info, her ebay passwords and her ATM pin#. She asked if she should do it. I asked her what she thought. She said "well there are words spelled wrong in the e-mail so I guess it probably is a fake". I said "YOU THINK?" LOL

My wife got one of those scam emails only it was citibank and not ebay but the same word was misspelled
Funny thing is we never had a citibank card of any kind 😀

Does this all mean if a scammer used a "spell-checker" he would have been successful? 😛 😀

😀 nice thinking Smoke!!

I worked 5 months on a Univerity for my school as a systems administrator..
As soon as there was a new virus thread, we mailed every teacher to not open any atachements, cause otherwise they just did!!
Those were all professors etc and really smart people, but it seems that they don't even read there mails and just click the attachment..
Yes, it was nice working there :S

With all things concidered....I think people are intolerant to computer viruses.

I think that, "they aren't so concerned" with their computer getting a virus, because subconcienciously, (excuse the spelling) if their 'puter gets a virus then, then they are imune to all that affect people. Or something like that 😱

BTW: I'm trying to get my sound working again after finding that the 21" monitor was killing my Video cards and hooked the old 17" backup. :disgust:

No luck yet :frown:
