first of all i am dying to see what kinds of wu times i can get out of this, i also posted in mobo forum and os, just posting here in case a TeAm member might can help another member. 🙂

alright i have just finished putting together my new system. Athloin XP 1800+, soyo SY-K7V dragon plus. everything so far has gone great. it says in the manual to install the raid during the windows 2000 installation. when trying to install the raid drivers it comes up with an error...

File \Win2000\Fasttrak.sys caused an unexpeced error (18) at line 1211 in D:\nt\private\ntos\boot\setup\oemdisk.c.

i am not sure what to do . i have tryed downloading the newest raid drivers form soyos web site, same error. any help is greatly appriciated.

cheese out....

I have this board, but not using raid at the moment.. However, I read somewhere to place the drivers on a floppy and install from it. *shrugs* dunno what the difference would be though. I will look into where I see this.

thanks for the reply, and yes you are correct, the drivers have to0 be installed from a floppy, this is what i have been doing, i used this method on both the drivers from the soyo cd and the drivers from the web. stilll a no go....🙁

Cheesemoo,

If you are wanting to use it as RAID, make sure that the ide_raid jumper on the board is set to short pins 1-2. If you want to use it for two Ultra100 ports instead, short pins 3-4.

For raid the driver is located on the cd at D:\RAID\Promise\RAID Family Driver\Win2000\

For Ultra100 use the driver is located on the cd at D:\RAID\Promise\Ultra Family Driver\Win2000\

The files must be copied to a floppy for them to work.

The RAID must be enabled in the BIOS.

That is all I had to do to get mine to work. I hope this helps 🙂

thanks crazee for posting, Gundog that was the problem. i just had to put the drivers in a folder on the floppy. you do not understand how much i appreciate the help. 🙂

GO TeAm. ill have to post my wu times in a bit. of couse seti will be my first install 🙂

cheese out.....

I can give you a preview as to your WU time if you would like 😀

My 1800+ on the K7V dragon Plus has performed at an average of 3:10 per WU according to SetiWatch 😀
