hummmm....Windows 98SE install started and ran, but I cancelled it. So I guess the mobo is fine. What is up with XP!!?? :|

I just took my 80 gig drive over to my BX system and XP is (so far) installing on it just fine! Seems XP just doesn't like my P4B266-C mobo.

Perhaps you could post in the Motherboards/General Hardware - someone there has this mobo and can help.

Wow that is a wierd one. :eek:

Sounds like an incompatibilty problem between XP and the board may be the problem..

BTW, as far as I am concerned, you have wasted none of my time! This has been a learning experience for me and I always appreciate it whenever I can learn something. :)

I just tried to fdisk the scsi drive again...this time fdisk said it "cannot read from drive". I am going to RMA it, maybe that was the root of the evil....guess I will find out. blaaaaa IBM is suck for warr replacement.
