OT. or is it?

... i've been a member here since 2002,
and i don't ever recall the forum being as quiet as this.
11 topics in all, and that includes the sticky at the top!

is this a sign of lack of interest in dc, or just cause the good weather is (supposed) to be coming? 🙂

personally, i'm thinking the former. 🙁

edit:
sorry, 13 topics now!

I agree. The weather is not so nice in northern Sweden but the beer is ... 😀

But the forums are much too quiet anyhow ... and we have discussed that too. I hope it will be more lively soon ... and I try to contribute ...
And the team has dropped 1 step in BOINC-total in the past month ... is the interest in crunching with TeAm AnandTech getting smaller?
Considering some of the other teams ... producing a RAC of 3 000 000 to 5 900 000 ... compared to TA: 800 000. Hmm, we need to recruit, challenge, banter, rise out of the depression ...

Well, DC isn't the kind of thing you get fired up about, it just kinda happens in the background. At least, that's how it's supposed to go. You've got problems with your setup if you notice it running.

I added a second GTX 260 this week so should see my ppd go up a bit.

Next up will be when GT300 comes out. New toys, good times...

an overclocked quad and a midstream (9800 or gts250) nvidia card will join my crunchers by early july!

right now I'm too busy to be more active here, but that'll change in a few weeks. Has anyone collected the starting stats for TAS?

lol,
i had just started.
but, it's true. i haven't seen this place as quiet as this, ever!

and, Denithor, no offence meant, "Well, DC isn't the kind of thing you get fired up about".
it used to be 🙂

I'll do them tomorrow!

Another thing we're missing is GLeeM's F@H stats. Maybe I'll start doing those almost daily. 🙂

Any idea when the new Gt300 will be coming out? I have managed to get a 939 machine up and running. I had a new FXprocessor for 3 days when the MB blew. The new MD has a PCI-e slot begging to be filled with a dual GPU. Don't exactly want to put a GTX 295 in with an upgrade around the corner. But it will also have to be a dual GPU - nopoint in a single GPU card is there??? 😀

Oh yes, the forums have been quiet.

I do like the comment - "You've got problems with your setup if you notice it running."

I notice my rigs if the power goes off. It is sooo quiet. You get used to the noise of 50+ fans running...

Do you know what's quiet? My computer. And I'm RAM limited... should've gotten that DDR2-1066. Noooo. I got the DDR2-800 because it was cheap. Now my Q9400 is at 3.9GHz and it's no where near it's limit, but the RAM is at DDR2-976 and is far from stable any higher than that.

Yay . Wait, damn. Still at work. 🙁

We need to recruit new people into the DC forum. Even the BBQ thread seems to be slowing down a bit.

😱 3.9 GHz and you still want more? I'm happy my X3360 is being complacent at 3.6 GHz, you running water cooling or something? Also, RAM dividers FTW.

Honestly, I'm ecstatic that this is stable at 423 * 8.5, and thankfully I got some good RAM, running at 864 MHz 4-5-4-13 with only 1.8 V 🙂 You have a C1 or E0?

It's on the lowest RAM divider, 1:1. The Q9400 only comes in the R0 revision, not C1 or E0. I want new RAM (I have a lower multiplier than you).

Just for example of my expectations, is my Core i7 920 @ 4.116 GHz daily usage. 😀

You can't unlink RAM/FSB on your board?

RAM is cheap 😀

Gigabyte EP45-UD3P. Most Intel chipsets I have worked with do not allow unlinked BUS/RAM ratios. My 680i does. And RAM is cheap.... IF you didn't just buy a 40" Samsung 1080p LCD, a Q9400, 2x 1.5TB drives, a blu-ray burner, 12GB of DDR2-800, and a few other things, including cases, PSUs, etc. 😛

WooHoo!!

Added a second GTX 260 to my folding rig - now cranking 14-15k ppd from one box.

😀

Currently have an 8800GS in my mother's system, G92 8800GTS in my secondary rig and two GTX 260/216s in my main box. PPD going up since yesterday - already nearly 20k and rising.

Oh yeah - and I broke 4 million about two weeks ago.

Good times!
