OT: Newegg is a "class act"

I've been keeping a real close eye on Intel CPU prices for the last week. Approx. last Thursday a number of the big name resellers reduced price in anticipation of the Intel price drop but quoted a ship date of 10/27.

Their scheme was to reduce price only part way down to new Intel price levels in hopes of using the reduction as a means of getting some quick business but then get full Intel price protection for their inventory on hand as of 10/26. It was a nice way to gain some additional profit margin $'s during the price drop period.

It appears that Newegg was one reseller that did not use this scheme. Today's Newegg price drop represents the full effect of the Intel price reduction to their customers. Looking at Pricewatch, some of the other resellers have egg on their face. (no pun intended).

I'm in no way associated with Newegg, but these guys are really a class act!!!

Mods, go ahead and flame me and lock this thread since is OT. I just had to point this out.

I like Newegg a lot...only place I've shopped with online consistently and never had an issue with!

I think this is the perfect place for this thread. What good is a deal if the company that's offering it is not reliable.
It's (Newegg) not the only place I shop, but it's certainly one of the first places I look. All my experiences have been extremely positive. Apparantly there are a few in this forum who disagree with us. Probably burnt their stuff up oc'ing or moding and are all fumed that Newegg won't take it back. Ya can't please everyone all the time, and some ya just can't please at all.
 
That was exactly my point. It's an example of how they handled a manufacturer's price reduction which provided maximum benefit to the consumer. Instead, they could have slowly followed the Pricewatch curve down like everyone else while skimming some extra margin. To me, it was a hot deal!!

These guys seem to care about the consumer. (novel concept these days!!)

Geez, did anyone actually read the post? I actually got something out of it, and it's just showing how Newegg is a great place, and they show it by how they do business.
