This last year+ here on the AnandTech forum has been a real eye opener for me and for the most part, a blast. You guys are awesome! I would have never believed in a hundred years that I'd be at this moment, a momentous one for me. Here's the part where you guys and gals come in, I need your help in making a decision. Should I be legit or sleaze my way? To byte or not to byte? To format or to troubleshoot. Both have appeal, deciding to nef or do a legit post. That's the rub. See, my next post on these forums will make me a "Golden" boy :Q and I think it only proper that all of you, who have made the time I'v spent here so enjoyable, help me over the transition of that last post. Which shall it be?? 😕

I've pretty much neffed my way to all my status changes. I do the normal every day posting, but when I get really close to the next one (coming soon) I nef just to get it over with. 😀

Actually, I did not realize I was golden till someone pointed it out to me when I was over 2300 posts.

I think Engineer holds the all time record for amount of posts in a month. He broke 2700 did he not?

Oh BTW, does anyone know where the expression Neffing or the verb "to Nef" originated? As long as I'm being educated, I might as well catch up on my etymology...😉
 
In 99' there was a guy/person who would do it constantly, and is forum name was Neff.... ( not sure what the rest was ) That is where it came from. Just like Dsam. A guy could not spell 😛

I am trying to do that with my Tahnks, but no one notices 😛
 
Hehe, neffing is not my strong suit, actually. 😉 That is actually the second time I've neffed in 3000+ posts, by my count (the other one was a post in a "smilie thread" long ago by sCoRpiOn). There are advanced neffing techniques which include, for example, the simulated-triple-post nef. 😀

The legend is that there was a member named nef who used the practice to pad his post count, to the point where the technique was named after him. So that's the derivation. 😀
