To fill you in I have been sick since saturday with it peaking on sunday. I went to the doctor on monday and recieved some penicilin (not just antibiotic) and then tuesday afternoon I realized that my neck was iched very badly and looked like I had been bathing in mosquitoes. I took some good old benidryl (sp?) and resolved the problem in .5 hour. My dad went to the doctor and got a new antibiotic and I took it when I got home from school. 3 hours later I have (what looks like mosquito bites) densly covering my chest and back. Looking at the papers provided with the new medicine reviels that this medicine should not be taken if a reaction has occured with penicilin! So both the doctor and the pharmist overlooked that and gave it to me anyway. Geez. Now I have spots completly covering my chest and back and no antibiotics to cure my origional problem!😕 O'whell I'm not in any pain or danger so I guess it's okay. The only thing i'm kind of mad about is that track started on tuesday and I have yet to participate and with out any medication I dont think the first part of next week will see me running either.🙁 I'm not looking for any sympathy, just shairing my story.
No offence at all to doctors or pharmists, you people are turly amazing!🙂

Try chicken soup for the cold, its a cure all.

Sorry to hear about your allergic reaction, that can be life threatening so make sure you never take pennicillin, ampicillin biaxin or derivitives.

Get will soon

Sorry to hear about your problem. The same thing happened to my mom. She is 54 and she just found out she was alergic to penicilin as well. She wasn't before. She now wears a braclet just in case she is in an accident or something like that so they don't administrate it by accident. She says they gave her something else that acts like penicilin but doesn't give her a reaction. Not sure what it's called tho.

Good luck getting better.
