OT: Lunar eclipse this weekend

There's a full lunar eclipse on Saturday night. Today's APOD shows a nice animated gif of it with relevent info on start times etc.

Enjoy, if the weather cooperates for ya! 🙂

Sweet! First the Northern Lights then a lunar eclipse. I dig space. 🙂

At least you were outside for them and not inside working! 😛
I do intend to be home for the eclipse though. And I'm armed with a hell of a telescope - on loan to me from a relative. A $1600 Celestar 8. 😀

Did anyone get to see it?
The weather ended up cooperating for most of totality, but just about 8:30EST some heavier clouds starting rolling in. Pretty cool though. That's the 1st time i've seen an eclipse thru a scope.

Man is it cold outside! Brrrrr!!!

My daughter and I saw it, she tried taking some pics with her digital camera, I don't think they turned out very well.

But it was cool! 😎

The skies over western NY actually cooperated and I was able to see it all. I must say, it was pretty cool. 🙂

I got a few digital pics. 🙂 I need to download them and see how they worked.
