OT: Legality

Site XXXXXXXX.com had a pricing error. Unlike Amazon and other they do not have a clause saying they reserve the right to cancel your order. They have my money. The cost was: $0 + $40 shipping. I paid with paypal so they have my money. I order 2 so shipping for each product was $20.

I have an invoice that says this:

There site's invoice says the exact same thing.

Now they call me and say this:
"We would like the rest of your money."

I paid the $40. and I even through a .01 cent tip.

Can they legally cancel my contract without letting me know they reserve the right to cancel the order?
Since they have my money.. do they have to give me the products?

guess ill be first to start the flaming, this isn't a hot deal so dont post it here. and you knew that it was a pricing error before you placed the order and you were willing to risk it sooo... and last, wtf did you pay with paypal esp after knowing it was a risky attempt at actually getting the stuff. should have used a credit card so you'd have some protection.

Um to reply to this.. This is why I put OT. This is acutally a very good matter to talk about because of all the pricing errors. I didn't know it was a pricing error, I thought it was a promotion. Paypal doesn't matter how I pay because I need to know the legality.

I think I would try to settle this with the merchant. Consider it worth a shot. if they refuse to honor the price, then make them refund the $40 in shipping. If they refuse to do that, then you have an issue with paypal.

Seriously, you thought they were running a PROMOTION on this item that they are selling for $179 after they fixed the price? yeah...right. But, just to make your day, they are running another promotion on the Eclipse SW9152. This item is now at the promotional price of $0.

I wasn't gonna flame, but curiosity got me and I had to look to see what you ordered, and looking at the comparable prices, it should have been obvious it was a price mistake.

What're you gonna do if they say no, and they have said no. Get a lawyer? Play hardball thru email? If the price they want is too much, then just request your money back. The only way you would have a case is if you'd already received the stuff. Then it'd be yours.

hahahahahahahahahahahaha. I'm sorry but this post is hilarious. "I even through a .01 cent tip". Like thats going to be mean sh*t. You tried to get something that was obviously a pricing error, and the company caught it. Tough cookies.
