this is realy Of Topic, but that is amazing so look to this

The 2.5 gigapixel photo

TNO has produced the largest digital panoramic photo in the world. So, what do we mean by large? After all, modern consumer cameras can easily take a picture with 5 million pixels. Well, we are talking about a photo of completely different dimensions. One with 2.5 billion pixels - that's 500 times more pixels. If this photo were printed, it would measure 6.67 m by 2.67 m (300 dpi). The photograph shows Delft and its surroundings in the autumn of 2004. It was taken the top of the Electrical Engineering faculty of Delft University, at a height of about 100 m, by TNO.

The 2.5 gigapixel photo

It was only a matter of time before someone beat Max Lyon's gigapixel image, though I think this one is much artistically crappier than his. ;)

Cool!

My girlfriend lived in Delft for half a year (working at a hotel for her school..) and I know how the building looks from where the photograph was taken :)

It's a very nice (rather small) city with a lot of water (canals?) flowing through it, a little bit like Venice in Italy.

Thanks for the link!

You've got my digital P&S beat by 1.1MP..

That's why I shoot film for all the important stuff, though I am predicting a digital SLR in my future within the next few years. :D
