Thanks for that info. I'll save it for the time I have problems with Paypal. I am sure it's just a matter of time. :(

1st things first, CONTACT the Buyer. Talk to him, it COULD be an accident. That happened with someone i did business with, he accidentally reversed the wrong charges. Paypal will tell you they can't do anything, and for you to just fill out that form they sent you, since the Reversal comes from the Credit Card Bank, not Paypal.

Either way, if it is a mistake, it'll take over a month for you to get ur funds back (whether it's a mistake or not), so hopefully the buyer was reputable.

That Sux, But yes I would contact Paypal first, I have 140 Transactions with no problems yet but I would think if you have proof that you sent him the product then they will stop the transaction.

ok to explain it more clearer this is what happened.

He sent me money for an item which was $214.50 USD. The next day i withdrew the money to my bank account. About a week later which is now i opened my email to find a mail from paypal saying this:

I may be mistaken but it is my understanding that they can't take the money out of your bank account to cover this. I think all they can do is take money as it is deposited to your Paypal account. Don't use Paypal anymore and you can keep your money. Not sure if they can or would start a court action or report it to a credit reporting agency.

I agree with scarfase99, it looks like he reversed the wrong charges. Looks like he had a $25 deal that went bad.
(Unless the $25 is some kind of transaction fee or something.)

Anyhow, Good Luck.

Did you ship the goods to his verified PayPal address? If so then I think they offer some sort of protection, but otherwise you leave yourself open to credit card fraud. I don't think they can get the $$ out of your bank account, but not sure about the CC, or future incoming payments -- I think they might be jeopardized.

sorry what do you mean by that?

I got a question: what happens if i dont access my paypal account ever again and leave the -200.00 in there? will it just stay there or will they start taking money out of my bank account or credit card?

Once the money has been transferred to your bank...they can't touch it...Unless something has changed within paypal.
I called them awhile back and asked that same question.
They will close your account though..if you don't repay the fraudelent funds after it has been transferred..If it's not in your account they can't reverse it.
That's what's nice about having a paypal debit card..Once someone beams you cash..You can withdraw it instantly.

I would only accept credit card Paypal from established traders, and doesnt mean 5 evals and 75 posts and 2 months a member. If they are new the funds will be non credit card due to this kind of crap. The more people screw over good traders who stick their necks out the farther the door gets closed on all trading. A few bad apples are killing a good thing for thier self serving momentary jolly of ripping someone off of what amounts to nothing in the big scheme of life.

Hope you get things worked out, but you simply are going to have to cover yourself from all angles in this world littered with goons and jokers.

I had the same problem before, they wont' deal with you, I sent them proof and they still consider that it's my fault.. o well, now my account is $899 in debt, I bypass it.. removed all the info and stuff, they can't charge me a buck, I still have the tracking number..
