OT: Has RAM prices not been going down?

I believe I bought set of Dual Channel DDR 400 Mhz (1 gig total) RAM for close to $100 more than a year ago (summer 2005). I'm now looking to upgrade (to 2 gigs), but find that not only are there no apparent hot RAM deals, but the current price for the same RAM I bought is about the same as 1 and 1/2 years ago! What's going on with RAM prices? Prices for everything else has gone down as they should (Flash cards, HD, etc).
