Hi!
I've got a temperature problem (i guess) with my Athlon Palomino XP 2000+ on a MSI K7T266-Pro board. If I run the CPU as it is with standard fan (boxed version) I got these results (using AIDA32)
CPU temp (100% with SETI): 69°C / 156°F
Board temp (100% with SETI): 57°C / 135°F
Room temp 34°C (and yeah, we have a damn heatwave in Germany *sweat*)
Usually I have my case open and a big fan (normaly used for cooling my room) pointing directly into the case
CPU temp (100% with SETI): 57°C / 135°F
Board temp (100% with SETI): 46°C / 115°F
Room temp 36°C (2more degrees cause my fan is cooling the case :*sweat sweat* )
While Idle (with the extra fan) I get that:
CPU temp (100% with SETI): 53°C / 127°F
Board temp (100% with SETI): 43°C / 109°F
So here's my question: AMD says that the max temp for my CPU is 90°C. Some ppl say that a critical temp for an Athlon Palomino XP 2000+ is 60 °C. Mine runs at 69°C (w/o extra fan) or 57°C (with extra fan) and at 100% CPU usage due to SETI@home. Am I risking some damage to my CPU with that temperatures? My machine is running 24/7.
Any help or comment appreciated!
