OT: Certification finally!

Okay, so it's not nearly as impressive as certification with Microsoft or Cisco, but I've passed my A+ certification tests. I passed the Hardware exam a couple months back and just passed the Software exam this morning. 😀

Next stop: MCP for Win2K. 😉

congradulations, you can now make a national averaged starting salary of 25k-35k a year! depending on experiance.
Personally I'd suggest getting a cisco certification before microsoft, everybody and their dog are mcse's and it's difficult to find a job for them. ccna guys get snatched up as fast as they can pass the exams.

Ah good, one more name in my "Technical Help Buddies List". 😛 😀

Congrats!!

Ever thought about taking the Server+ or Network+ exams? I took the Network+ when it was in beta testing, but man was that an eye opener! They pulled from all areas of Novell, Unix, Windows, DOS and yes even the OSI model!

I didn't think the test for Win2k (pro or server) was too difficult but it did make you think once in a while; but let us know what you think afterward if you decide to test.

Going for your MCSE?? 🙂

I finished my MCSE on the Win2k side last April, so if I can be of assistance let me know. The Network design and implementation exam will probably make you sweat a bit. :Q (4 hour test)

--LANMAN ---> MCSE (WinNT & Win2k)

Congrats Rich. :beer:😎:beer:

I used to teach the A+ class.

Congrats Rich!

I passed the hardware portion of the A+ almost a year and a half ago but failed the software portion and haven't tried to retake it.

Well, when I took my Hardware exam, I got a bunch of question on Firewire and USB, specifically on the high and low power versions of USB. Other than that, if you're familiar with your SCSI types and IRQs, you should do fine. 🙂

The test is adaptive though, so you could very well see just one question on USB and SCSI and get lots of questions on others that I didn't get.
