OT: Cable Modem died!!!

I have had probelms connecting for the last two days and it ends up my cable modem died. It would connect long enough to pull up half a webpage then drop the connection. Cox had been doing Maintenance in our area so I thought it was them. Had a tech out today and ended up going out and buying a new modem.

Oh well at least I am now back on!!!!!

It was rough for the last three days with nno internet!!!!

Hey B,

What Brand of Cable Modem was that one that died?

I'm trying to keep somewhat of a track of Broadband failures especially Cable Vs DSL units.

Comcast upgraded my modem (for free!) a while back, and I keep the old one as a spare. About a month after using the new one, my internet stopped working. After 24 hours, I tried hooking the old modem back up, and everything worked! I then hooked the new one up again and it started working again. Weird...
 
Got a spare router here, and a spare switch or 2 to keep all the boxes connected, will have to get a spare modem next time i see a good deal on one. 🙂

Then again, my cable isp was giving me a discount for owning my own instead of using one of thiers, now sincwe the discount went away, maybe i'll have em bring me one of thiers and keep mine as a spare 🙂
