What time does newegg put up their refurbs? I really need a graphics card and newegg is the only place that sells refurb graphics cheap, also being they are a reputable company. They put up 7 pages worth of refurb cards today. :Q

Well, I will tell you the secrets of Newegg Refurbs. It used to be either Friday afternoon or Monday afternoon, but recently they have been doing refurbs all the time. What you need to do if you want to get the good stuff is get a program that monitors changes in webpages and notifies you. There are programs that will even page you when the site changes (adds stuff). Just do a search and you will find a program that can do this....:)

Just check constantly. Quit your job and sever ties with your friends and family if you have to.

I'm convinced they just keep selling the same items even after they've been returned defective. All of the video cards I've bought from their refurb section were broken.

Well, I have purchased about 10K in refurbed stuff over the last couple of years. Very little of the stuff is actually refurbished. It is kind of surprising when I get something that I can tell has actually been refurbished by the factory. Almost everything is just returned stuff, which can be good and bad. I have gotten some great deals, and some real junk. I have to laugh when I open up the package with a processor and half of the die is cracked off. Yeah, that was really refurbished all right.....:)

The processors and the graphics card go the quickest. Motherboards they usually have more then one in stock.

LOL, sounds like EverCrack...

I have recently noticed that the Newegg refurb section has been updated on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. I pick up a motherboard every once in a while. You're right, CPUs and video cards do go quick.

I bought a Refurb Gainward GF4 Ti4800SE from them like 3 weeks ago and when I got it, it looks brand new. Have not had one problem with it so far, works perfectly even overclocked! It even came with all of the cables and manual. When I bought from them they had a HUGH selection of GF4 cards but they sold out in like 1-2 days. I'm shocked how fast they have been unloading them. I think lots of people like me are disappointed in the performance of current video cards compared to the amount of money they want and decided to get a $100.00 GF4 to hold them over until something better comes along.

cases go quick 2, the case section is updated about twice a week,

took me over 2 months to figure out what time it gets updated, make sure u have an account and can type quick,

that guy with tuesday/wenseday/monday updates, is pretty much on,
i'm gonna be a bit of a prick and say the rest is up too you, because to get there refurb stuff is alotttt of work

once u figure it out though, just pay attention for a week or 2, and u'll know when stuff goes up,

then waste ur evening waiting for an update, as i've seen stuff go up on those days within a 3 hour time slot, up too u to figure it out

And whatever you do; if you do "Time it" properly and you actually find items you want to buy:

Don't put them in your cart and keep shopping. By the time you try to finalize your order; the items will be gone in some cases to someone else who actually " Checked-out ".:( I've missed out on many a great deal that way.

Understand that Newegg specifically states that " THEY" do not test anything. Only their suppliers test items or they repackage returns. I got an XP2100+ once that the entire top of the CPU was coated with ASII!:Q After I bathed it in soap and water and re-glued the Pads back in place it happily ran 2.4 Gig on air-cooling. Even returns do not neccesarily mean defective componants; possibly just defective purchasers.:D

Defective purchasers is right.......I am running in my main machine a 1700 B that I got from Newegg refurbs for like $30....runs all day long at 2.2ghz.......the best deal I have ever received as far as refurbs go was not from Newegg though. Computergeeks had about 10 refurb 9700 pro's for $129 each a couple of weeks back....I got one and it works great!!!

I noticed that a sapphire 9500 pro "appeared" in the refurb section a few days after I returned it due to faulty memory. Coincidence, or was it the exact same card being resold?

(my refund was $177, their refurb price was around $130)

I'm quite happy with my Abit NF7-S v2.0 for $69 from Newegg refurb that came in retail box with all accessories.

also recently picked up a 360w enlight ps for $19 and a Gainward GF3 Ti200 for $39

If you do get a refurb, be sure and test it well as soon as you get it. I bought two identical mobo's from Newegg, installed one right away and it worked great, waited on the other one a day too long and found it was bad, and I was out of luck!

heh, posts about newegg are so holy here that even though they are in the wrong forum nobody cares..

wait, but I do. WRONG FORUM!!

Think to yourself.. there is an Off Topic forum.. so if I post a thread that starts with OT then it probably doesn't belong in Hot Deals.. It probably belongs in Off Topic!

It may be "off topic," but it's still very relevant to hot deals. Of course, no one wants to say exactly when the refurbs come up, since that would mean more fierce competition. So good luck to you trying to find out what time they put them out. It took me a good week before I figured out. :D

I'm starting to feel sorry I ever heard about newegg refurbs...

I should have stopped after the first thing I bought (gainward 4200ti) was a total pile of worthless shiz.

Now I got another 4200ti (abit this time) and a 1900+...getting random colored checkerboard lockups (I can still move the mouse around as a nice colored box).

Newegg should pay ME to test their crap hardware for them...now I'll probably have to send back more stuff and eat the shipping...

Do not buy expensive stuff from their refurbished junkyard. My bad experience:
Pentium 2.4 GHz toast, Radeon 8500 toast, I lost money because in the beginning it worked, 2 different motherboards, I lost money on one, $100 Corsair memory that is junk and I have hard time to deal with Corsair. And a bunch of small things. Never again anything over $60 from newegg refurbished.

I bought a WinFast VIVO GF4 Ti card from the refurb section... it was a full retail set, everything was there including all cables and software. Works great, however (this is not Newegg's fault), the card & box are both labeled VIVO, however, there's only a S-video output... Factory defect. Anyone need VIVO cables for a WinFast GF4? hehe.

Anyway, overall, BIG thumbs up for the refurb section on newegg, got a GF4 Ti for $111 shipped, can't hardly beat that.
