Thought it only appropriate to say something here. Did a quick search of the forums and saw no mention. Many of our D C forum members are Service members.

As a former member of the USAF , I don't think we give enough credit to those who have and are putting themselves in harms way.

I for one, am honored to have been a member of our Armed Services. And I extend honor those of our foreign members for their countries participation and efforts maintaining peace on our world.

Well said, Soggysocks! My father and uncles all served.

Here's to all who sacrifice and put themselves in harm's way for their country and to all who have or are serving in the Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Coast Guard. :)

As a serving member in the US Navy, I just want to say thanks from myself and all those who serve for your heartfelt appreciation. It is becoming rare again to see people appreciate what we do.

Not as rare as you might think. Your service and dedication are greatly appreciated, both for what you do and for what you give up by doing so. Then again, I am a bit biased. My father lied about his age to enlist in WWII because his mother wouldn't give him permission to join. Still chokes me up just thinking about what he did for what he believed. He's certainly a far better person than I.

What's your rate, if you don't mind me asking?
