OT: Are these good cruncher deals?

well, sure, if you are willing to put up with used parts that may have an unknown lifespan to them, potential trolls and ripoffs, and hassles with shipping. 😛
 
No, they are not good deals, imho, especially if something ever goes wrong with the parts. :frown:

Watching here and here can sometimes turn up some pretty sweet deals. 😛
 
i used to get tigerdirect catalogs in the mail, out of 100 pages, there would be 2-3 good prices, everything else was overpriced

I guess my excuse is I was at school and didnt have enought time to check out the links with out the teacher noticing. 😉
And just so you know I care, I checked the links out this time! The Soyo looks decent but I dont know the preformance of the ALi chipsets. I figure for an extra $150 you could get a 2000+ a cheap 16mb TNT2, 128mb PC1600 and a HDD. BTW MoFunk has a 900mhz Duron and some PC1600 here.

If anyone I know orders from Tiger direct I will show up at their door with a phone book, and smash that person over the head repeatedly until such time as they either:

1. swear never to shop at tiger again.
2. get knocked unconsious.
3. die.

Please see the thread I stared in FI about AT accepting advertizing money from them, and how Tiger made bogus charges on many many AT'ers.

So the answer is NO. they are not good deals, because TD sucks bigtime. Good to know, as I occasionally get email deals from them. Let's find out if their unregister option actually works.

You are very welcome. Sorry I went off the deep end a little bit 😛. There are very few things/people in this world I actually hate. I can actually count them all on one hand; without using my thumb or pinky. Tigerdirect and cauliflower are 2 of them.

I live about 20 minutes away from their midwestern HQ / warehouse so if you ABSOLUTELY need something, I can get it for you. Same goes for anything any DC'er has trouble with.
